Sandeep & Lavina

This past weekend I had the privilege of coordinating the 4 day wedding of Sandeep & Lavina in Atlanta, on behalf of Kis3 Event Planning.

Thursday night was the welcome dinner at AJA in Buckhead.

This is the cake - all edible!

Friday night was the Mehndi and Sangeet at the Hilton Norcross. I loved the mix of seating - from rounds
to low lounge seating
and even rugs and pillows

Saturday was the Baraat, ceremony, and reception at the Sheraton Downtown. The color scheme for the day was pink and white. I wish I had pictures to show, but I was just too busy that day to capture any. However, once I receive the photos from the photographer I will definitely share!

Sunday night was the reception given by the groom's family at the Westin Buckhead

Guests were greeted with escort cards and favors. It's no simple feat to alphabetize and arrange 400 of these!
Here is an ice sculpture vase in the entryway
The room was a very modern black and blue with branch centerpieces and hanging candles

And the show piece of the room was this 5 tier blue wedding cake
Here is a closer look and you can see the jeweled tiers and silver scroll work on each layer

Thanks to Snehal and Nirjary at Kis3 for giving me the opportunity to coordinate this wedding for them while they coordinated a wedding in Orlando! It was definitely a challenge and exhilarating learning experience for me!

A Unique Wedding Exit

My clients are always looking for unique wedding exits that are memorable and will make a striking exit photo.

Photographer Ross Oscar Knight recently featured a wedding where guests wrote messages of goodwill for the newly married couple and released these lanterns into the sky.

Sky lanterns make for a very dramatic end to a wedding and one source for them is at Flying Chinese Lanterns

Photo from Flying Chinese Lanterns

I'm looking forward to using these for a destination wedding in December! Anyone have other unique ideas for wedding exits?

Nancy + Andrew - Engagement Photos

I love it when a photographer captures the true essence of a couple. And this engagement session of my clients Nancy and Andrew, from Ross Oscar Knight, truly captures them perfectly. Their happiness and love for each other is just infectious when you're around them.
I'm really looking forward to their wedding in November!

Venue Spotlight: 550 Trackside

Last month I had the opportunity to attend the grand opening for a new wedding venue in the Atlanta area, 550 Trackside, located in downtown Lawrenceville.
The venue is a historic building that was meticulously restored by the owners.

No detail was overlooked in the restoration

550 Trackside features tall loft ceilings with exposed beams, and a big open floor plan with room for up to 300 seated and 450 reception style

The venue reminds of of an old European villa

Loved this floral piece sitting in the table

One of my favorite caterers (and fellow StudioWed vendor) Hallie Jane's Catering, provided food at the grand opening event and it was quite tasty!

Finally, here is the bridal suite. Just look at the multiple makeup stations perfect for bridesmaids

And the lovely bathroom for the bride with antique furniture

I'm definitely looking forward to having an event here in the future!

Polynesian Invitation Inspiration

Kemba Celebrations offers great designs for culturally themed invitations.
Right now, I'm loving the Polynesian inspired ideas featured on the Kemba Celebrations blog.

They not only feature invitations on the blog, but educate on different cultural traditions so you can learn and understand how to properly use cultural elements in your wedding.
