It's always sad to throw beautiful flowers away after a wedding. My clients Courtney and Doug had the best idea ever. They took the flowers from the wedding.... And planted them into the garden at their new home!
Courtney and Doug had an intimate wedding at Studio 887 in Atlanta. It was a beautiful day for an outdoor ceremony. Here are the professional photos courtesy of Brenda Upton.
We used blue and orange lanterns and ribbon to decorate the trees around the ceremony site. The bride's mom was her maid of honor and escorted her down the aisle with the bride's father. Mason jars served as candle holders I loved the unity candle "set" they chose for the ceremony. Once Doug and Courtney were married they went off for a few minutes alone while we started the reception. Inside Studio 887, guests were greeted with the guest book and escort cards The reception room was set up with long banquet tables and tons of potted plants in vintage tins The couple designed their own menu cards And party favors Guests gathered around to watch the first dances Instead of a traditional wedding cake, the groom's mom made cupcakes! The cards on the cupcake tower say "Made with love by Mom Carter" Up next, wait until you see what Courtney and Doug did with all the flowers and plants from the reception.
It's always wonderful to have a great photographer to capture the most precious moments of a wedding day. Brenda Upton nailed this one - it's one of my favorites, as she captures the bride's reaction as she sees the reception room for the first time after my team finished the set up. It brings a tear to my eye now to see how happy and emotional Courtney was at that moment. This is why I do what I do!
Friday's wedding was intimate and beautiful. I think everyone in attendance at some point shed tears of joy. There was love and happiness all around. Here are a few teaser photos of the couple by photographer Brenda Upton. And here are a few photos to show you how the "grandma's attic" decor turned out. I'll be sure to share more details when I get the professional photos.
I love having clients who think outside the box and let their personalities reflect in their wedding style. We have been preparing for Friday's wedding, and the bride has selected a "Grandma's Attic" theme due to the fact she loves all things vintage and doilies.
Here is the area where the couple will have the ceremony. We will drape in front of the green door with sheer ivory fabric. The plants and trees will accent the area perfectly. Guests will be served lemonade and water on this stand as they wait for the ceremony to begin. The reception tables will have burlap tablecloths, hemstitched napkins, and doily runners.
