This is the cake from the Old Hollywood Glam wedding table
This is the Perfect Match couples shower table

And this is a view of the Fashionista Sweet 16 table - the skirt is made out of purple carnations

I hope everyone has a wonderful week. I'm taking a break and going to the beach for Labor Day weekend. (Please pray the rain go away!) I'll be back next week to share more details about the Soiree.

Old Hollywood Glam

I'm ending the week with another inspiration board from one of the wedding tables at my Open House Soiree this Sunday at The Solarium, 321 West Hill St., Decatur, GA 30030.

This is my Old Hollywood Glam Wedding Table(Photo Sources: Clockwise from top left - flowers, Nars, shoes, centerpiece, shoe, candles, centerpiece, perfume, pillows, perfume, charm, purse, middle photo)

The Concept: Old Hollywood glitz and glamour is reflected with dramatic black satin linens, feminine pink, and crystal accents. This one is guaranteed to be a show stopper!

I am beyond excited about the Soiree on Sunday. After so many months of planning I finally get to show everyone what I've been working on! And I'm looking forward to meeting lots of new people. I really hope all the guests leave with new ideas and great vendors for their wedding and special events. And of course for all you blog readers who can't make it, I will share all the photos and details!

You can still register for the event until the end of today at http://lemiga.eventbrite.com/. There are less than 100 tickets left, so make sure you go ahead and register!

And finally, a big thank you to Zenadia Designs and Crossroads Cottage for posting on their blogs about the open house.

Soiree Sneak Peek

I know that I have tons to do to get ready for the Soiree but I couldn't stay away - I'm officially addicted to blogging!

I wanted to share with you a sneak peek of what you can expect to see at the Open House Soiree on Sunday. This is an inspiration board I created for one of the creative table displays. The theme is a Perfect Match Couples Shower table
(Sources: Clockwise from the top left martini, flowers, matches, candle, flowers, stationery, candles, flowers, lanterns, vases, candle, matches, and middle chair)

The concept: A hip evening with friends to celebrate a couple's upcoming wedding. Candles and matches lend to the overall theme of a "perfect match". I wanted to keep the feel of the design very modern but still romantic.

Join us at the open house this Sunday August 24th, 4-6pm at The Solarium in Decatur, and see this inspiration board come to life with my creative table display. There's still time to register at http://lemiga.eventbrite.com

Open House Soiree

My Open House Soiree is this Sunday, August 24th, 4:00pm-6:00pm at The Solarium, 321 West Hill Street, Decatur, Georgia 30030.

The purpose of the Soiree is to showcase my work along with the talented group of vendors that I work with. I wanted to do something different than the typical bridal show which can sometimes feel big and impersonal and you really don't get anything from it other than a ton of business cards. This Soiree is meant to be interactive. You will have the chance to not only meet the vendors, but get to see, taste, hear, smell and touch the products and services that they offer.

The Soiree
There will be a catering room with appetizers from Badda Bing Catering and Tucker's Catering, gourmet chocolates from Dreamy Gelato & Chocolates, a sparkling liqueur tasting station from Nuvo, and cupcakes from Sugarplum Visions.

We will have a creative table display room with wedding and event designs from Lemiga Events, florals from Flora Design Studio, stationery from Socially Write, event rentals from Event Rentals Unlimited, linens from Connie Duglin, and party favors from Crossroads Cottage, Chasing Spayde Designs, and Paperluxe Studio.

There will be an entertainment lounge room with sleek event furnishings from CORT, lighting from Active Production & Design, draping from Atlanta Drape & Event Design, and live jazz from EastCoast Entertainment.

We will have other interactive stations like a photobooth from WOW Photobooth, massages from Spa Flow, and natural body product sampling from Sage Naturalceuticals.

For the guys that may get "dragged" along, there will be a Wii lounge with Wii bowling and a DJ from Avalanche Entertainment.

So as you can see this will be a fun afternoon, and you should hopefully walk away with a good sense of what my vendors and I can offer you for your next wedding or special event.

New Business Cards

I am a self-proclaimed paper junkie. I love great paper and I really love unique business cards. So after the design of my new logo I decided to go for the ultimate - letterpress business cards! I ordered them from Invited Ink and I couldn't be happier with the way they turned out.The back of the card is a metallic pink cardstock and is also letterpress. Sally Ann at Invited Ink was so great about answering my thousands of questions and being patient with me every time I changed my mind. They were also very reasonably priced considering I wanted 2 color, 2 sided duplex printed letterpress cards. And the cherry on top was that they did custom artwork for me which I love and have now incorporated into my new logo. I would definitely recommend Invited Ink to anyone looking for custom letterpress.
So if you see me out and about definitely ask me for a business card - I can't wait to start handing them out!

Nuvo

Who doesn't appreciate a good cocktail at the end of a long hard week? Nuvo is the world's first sparkling liqueur. It combines french wine, premium vodka and natural fruit nectar with hints of peach and raspberry. And look at this bottle
I could design an entire event just by the bottle alone! How much fun would this be for a bachelorette party?

Nuvo is now available in 25 markets and just launched in Georgia July 18th. Check out the website on where to find to it.

But for those in Atlanta, stop by my Open House Soiree on August 24th at The Solarium. Nuvo will have a tasting station for you to try this yummy cocktail. Register for the Soiree at http://lemiga.eventbrite.com/

New Website

I'm very excited after many months of drafting, revising, and changing my mind hundreds of times, my new website is finally live! Please check it out at http://www.lemiga.com/ I would love to hear feedback on what you think about it.

Vendor Spotlight: Sky + Carla Photographers

Today I am featuring the gorgeous photography of Sky + Carla Photographers. To me their photography looks like it could come straight out of a fashion magazine - bold colors, great angles and capturing people in the best light possible. On top of being great at what they do Sky + Carla are just fun to be around. They are the kind of couple that you would love to hang out with on a Friday night. Sky of Sky + Carla Photographers has stopped by today to talk about their photography.

Lemiga: Tell us a little about Sky + Carla Photographers - what made you decide to start your company?

Sky + Carla: Carla is a wedding fanatic and has been planning her perfect island dream wedding since she was a little girl and I was in love with every aspect of photography as far back as I can remember. I proposed to Carla on a moonlit beach in Puerto Rico and we decided to be wed there as well. So in the process of planning and researching destination weddings, we thought how cool would it be to photograph weddings in beautiful locations. So Sky + Carla was born.
Lemiga: Which Atlanta venue is your favorite to shoot a wedding or event?

Sky + Carla: We both enjoy shooting in Villa Christina. I think the location is gorgeous and has an abundance of locations with great light. The ballroom and restaurant are pretty nice too, especially when the clients get creative with the details.
Lemiga: What qualities should a couple look for when hiring their photographer?

Sky + Carla: They should look for personality, skill level, reputation, and flexibility. I always encourage couples to hire a qualified wedding photographer based on their likeability factor. Do business with people you like.
Lemiga: What details within the wedding day play the most important part in your photography?

Sky + Carla: I would say the timeline/schedule is most important since wedding days tend to run rampant. It’s important to allot enough time for the wedding portraits and some alone time for the bride and groom ;)

Lemiga: Does your company only photograph weddings?

Sky + Carla: No, Carla also specializes in sexy boudoir photography and other female portraiture. I shoot a select amount of commercial and advertisement photography for corporations and small businesses.

Lemiga: What has been the highlight of your career to date?

Sky + Carla: Every day that we are in business is the highlight. It feels good to be busy with a growing list of happy and satisfied clients.
Thanks Sky for taking time out of your busy schedule to stop by today! Sky + Carla Photographers is a participating vendor at my Open House Soiree on August 24th. Please stop by and meet the dynamic duo, see some of their beautiful work and talk to them about your upcoming wedding or portrait needs. Register for the Soiree at http://lemiga.eventbrite.com/

Chasing Spayde Designs

The moment I saw the party favors made by Chasing Spayde Designs I fell in love! Their favors are everything a great party favor should be - unique, beautiful, and reflective of the occasion. From the paper, to the ribbbon, to the special items inside, these little treasures are so gorgeous that no guest could possibly throw them away. I am so excited to feature Chasing Spayde Designs today and co-owner Melissa Scorsone has stopped by today to tell us more about their company.
Lemiga: Why did you start Chasing Spayde Designs & where did the name come from?

Chasing Spayde: Ashli and I both love to entertain and have a creative flair for it. We decided to put our talents together and see what we could create. Helping a client have the perfect wedding or gathering is very rewarding. We both wanted our company name to reflect something special in our lives. Since I have an energetic & inquisitive 2 year old son named Chase, I decided that would be my contribution. Ashli’s family is very important to her and she wanted to use her surname Spayde. Our logo the Royal Bee was a design we both thought would be classic, but add a touch of whimsy.
Lemiga: What products and services do you offer?

Chasing Spayde: We offer custom favor boxes, place cards, albums, scrapbooks, card boxes, memory boxes and diaper cakes....
Lemiga: Any advice for those who are trying to find unique party favors?

Chasing Spayde: Speak with an event planner. Every client has their own personal taste and ideas. Ashli and I both love sitting down with a client and brainstorming ideas for their event. These meetings always have a positive result for our clients and our company. Listening to a client’s wants and needs is a very important part of a successful business. Lemiga: What is your favorite party favor that you have created thus far?

Chasing Spayde: Our favorite favor that we have created was the wild animal diaper cake and memory box.
Thanks so much Melissa for stopping by today. Chasing Spayde Designs is a participating vendor at my Open House Soiree on August 24th. They have custom designed the party favors for one of the wedding table displays and one lucky guest will win a giveaway for a $100 gift certificate towards party favors! Vendor Spotlight: Sugarplum Visions

I thought I would end the week on a sweet note. Anyone who knows me knows that my favorite bakery is Sugarplum Visions. When I celebrated my birthday in Las Vegas I even transported Sugarplum's cupcakes from Atlanta to Vegas because they're that good! Now if you like your cake to be light with the whipped icing (like at Publix), it's probably not the bakery for you. But when I eat cake I want to taste all the buttery and sugar richness of a good homemade cake. And that is exactly what Sugarplum Visions delivers. I've been using Sugarplum pretty much since I started my business and owner Jamie Fine has become a good friend. Today Jamie has stopped by to share with you a little about her bakery and her wonderful cakes.

All the photos I'm sharing today are from events that I have worked with Jamie over the years.
Lemiga: Tell us a little about Sugarplum Visions – how did you get started?

Sugarplum Visions: I was working as a flight attendant and decided to turn my passion for creating uniquely decorated desserts into a business after weathering turbulent times in the airline industry and opened Sugarplum Visions near the historic Marietta Square.
Lemiga: What is the latest trend in wedding cakes for 2008?

Sugarplum Visions: The latest trend is actually not a specific trend. Our brides are seeking unique custom cakes to suit their reception and personal style. We have created everything from traditional white on white cakes, to bold chocolate and whimsical styles to cupcake trees.
Lemiga: What makes Sugarplum Visions different from other bakeries?

Sugarplum Visions: Our crowd pleasing cakes are made with premium ingredients. We focus on custom designs, understand the significance of special events and truly enjoy working with our clients on an individual basis to achieve their perfect cake.
Lemiga: What has been the highlight of your career to date?

Sugarplum Visions: Through community support we were voted Best Wedding Cake on Fox Atlanta's Hot List. Nothing beats the WOW reaction of our clients when they see their dream cake become a reality. Lemiga: One piece of advice for Brides-to-be:

Sugarplum Visions: Hire reputable professionals to help relieve the stress of planning and HAVE FUN!!!!!
Thanks Jamie for stopping by today! Sugarplum Visions is a participating vendor at my Open House Soiree on August 24th. Please stop by and meet Jamie and sample her delectable cakes! You can register for the Soiree at http://lemiga.eventbrite.com/

EastCoast Entertainment

Great music and entertainment can make a wedding last into the night, and bad music can send your guests running for the door. Today I'm featuring EastCoast Entertainment, and Agent/Event Producer/Bandleader Matthew Thomas has stopped by today to talk about music and entertainment for your wedding or special event.

Lemiga: Tell us a little about EastCoast Entertainment - how long have you been servicing the Atlanta area?

EastCoast: We have been in business for over 30 years and have been serving the Atlanta area for almost 25 years
Lemiga: What services do you offer?

EastCoast: We provide production and entertainment for all types of events, and with the largest roster of talent than any agency in the country, there is nothing we can't provide in regards to entertainment. Our production services range from A/V to sound & lighting for weddings and events

Lemiga: How is EastCoast Entertainment different from other entertainment companies in Atlanta?

EastCoast: Being the largest agency in the country, we have the largest roster of talent and exclusive artists than anyone around, so we can provide the widest variety of talent and entertainment at the best price that any of our competitors.

Lemiga: What should clients look for when booking entertainment for their wedding or special event?

EastCoast: Reputation, variety of music and longevity are the most important things...our artists have years of experience and have great references from many of the clients they have performed for, they are constantly improving their sound, their show and their play list. The ability to play a wide variety of music is important to stay up to speed with the changing and diverse tastes of clients and their guests. And lastly, a band that has been together for a number of years is always going to perform better than a group that is newly formed or goes through a lot of constant transition with regards to the members of the band. Find out how long the group has been together and when the last change in personnel was. This will have an impact on their overall sound and performance.
Lemiga: What is most popular right now in entertainment for weddings?

EastCoast: The Big Band sound is really becoming popular again. The style in music and the horn section creates a full rich and elegant and sophisticated sound that brides and grooms are really enjoying.

For the younger couples, Hip Hop has also become more important and a band that can incorporate new hit songs is very popular.

Thanks Matthew for stopping by today and giving us an inside look at EastCoast Entertainment. EastCoast Entertainment is a participating vendor at my Open House Soiree on August 24th and the Adam Knight Jazz Ensemble will be performing. Adam is a phenomenal guitarist and has a superb jazz ensemble that plays for all type of events and weddings. Stop by and enjoy the live entertainment and talk to Matthew about your entertainment needs. Register for the Soiree at http://lemiga.eventbrite.com/
